Dublin city is a truly special place at Christmas time. From the switching on the lights ceremonies, right up until the big day itself, Dublin sparkles with festive spirit like nowhere else. A variety of merry events take place during the weeks running up to Christmas and there is something for the young and the old and for family and friends alike.

Christmas in Dublin’s city centre was even bigger this year. Dublin City BID will continue their tradition of bringing lights to the city centre while, at the same time, adding thirteen new streets. That’s a total of 30 streets alive with the magic of Christmas! College Green, Dawson Street, South William Street, Parnell Street, Upper and Lower Liffey Street, to name but a few, were for the first time set aglow to add to the already famous sparkle of Grafton Street and Henry Street.

So there were even more reasons to bring the family into the city centre to enjoy some festive under the sparkling lights!
